This role is based in Cooma, with flexible options for FIFO (Fly In, Fly Out), DIDO (Drive In, Drive Out), and relocation support. The Role
As Project Manager, reporting to the Deputy Project Director, you will be responsible for overseeing Voith's role and delivery within the Snowy 2.0 construction scope. Your responsibilities include shaping and delivering project strategies, managing risk proactively, and excelling in schedule and cost management while upholding stringent health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
The Snowy 2.0 Project Manager is integral to the project's success, working closely with Voith, Future Generation, and TransGrid on behalf of Snowy Hydro.
Facilitate and nurture strong relationships with Voith to ensure successful project outcomes. Align all parties to ensure seamless interface management and successful project delivery. Clearly define and agree on project scope with FGJV, Voith, and Snowy Hydro. Monitor Voith's offshore and onshore supply, as well as their installation progress, against cost and schedule benchmarks. Conduct ongoing reviews to ensure project deliverables meet the required quality standards and objectives. Foster collaboration with stakeholders, including safety, quality, and environmental teams, to resolve issues and maintain effective working relationships. Manage project activities, ensure Voith's contract obligations, and coordinate inspections, approvals and documentation. Track project progress, hold review meetings, adjust schedules, and implement recovery plans as needed. Act as a main escalation point for critical issues and working with senior management to resolve. What You'll Bring We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Engineering or Project Management with demonstrated experience in construction and engineering project management. The role requires strong knowledge of construction and electro-mechanical installations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while managing complex, multi-contract projects. Strong negotiation skills, experience supervising contractors, and a dedication to a safe, positive work environment are essential.
