Usual hours of work: Full time (flexibility may be available)
Usual work location: Benalla or Melbourne CBD (flexibility may be available)

The Role
The Project Manager will contribute to the design and implementation of a GMA research program aimed to determine the rate of waterfowl wounding that occurs in recreational duck hunting in Victoria. This position will provide support to the Research Principal and Research Scientist in delivering this research project.

The responsibilities of the Project Manager will include:
Manage the development and implementation of the wounding rate project.
Organise daily logistics of research processes and manage safety procedures for hunters and contract research personnel.
Provide advice and assistance to landowners and land managers in relation to research timelines and requirements for land access permissions and approvals.
Participate in activities supporting research.

The Team
The position of Project Manager forms a part of the Game Management Authority, which delivers programs to improve and promote sustainable and responsible game hunting in Victoria.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have the following skills and experience:
Extensive experience in project management and experimental design, data collection, field work, and reporting, including experience in animal or wildlife research.
Experience in delivering a research project, developing timelines and comprehensive project plans.
Extensive experience in engaging stakeholders and coordinating contractor involvement.
Leading and supporting the development and delivery of training materials with input from industry experts.
A relevant degree in science or applied science, ecology, natural resource management, game or wildlife management, or similar is required.
