Government ICT Project Services Organisation based in Darwin and delivering complex, high value, and/or high-risk ICT programs and multi-year digital transformation initiatives has a requirement for a Project Manager to support the delivery of a major technology program that will transform the delivery of health care services for Territorians by delivering a Northern Territory-wide single, integrated health electronic record system.
The Project Manager will report directly to the Program Management Lead and will support organisational efforts to deliver feasibility studies, business cases and ensuring projects run to a high professional standard aligned with contemporary practices.
Key Duties / Responsibilities / Deliverables: Ensure that initiatives are effectively assessed through engagement of appropriate stakeholders to complete feasibility / implementation planning studies that support strategically aligned solutions.Prepare thorough project plans and maintain these to ensure that they reflect any changes as the projects progress.Manage risks and issues and project schedules.Produce accurate, succinct and high-quality reports on project progress through project lifecycles.Ensure that projects are delivered within time, quality and resource constraints.Deliver Feasibility Studies, Business Cases, Project Plans and Projects as requested. Essential Skills and Experience: Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Project Manager.Demonstrable experience as a Project Manager or Senior Business Analyst with responsibility for delivery substantial bodies-of-work in the health sector.Demonstrable high level of ability and qualification in project management.A demonstration of appreciation for PRINCE2 or Project Management Professional (PMP) methodologies and Agile work practices.Demonstrable ability to work as a part of a larger team with competing priorities while maintaining focus on core deliverables.Demonstrable expertise in change management and project planning, including ability to analyse and report on complex issues, evaluate associated risks, benefits and strategies.High level ability in demonstrating flexibility in planning and managing available resources against changing and competing demands. Personal Qualities required of Candidate(s): High level oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively and prepare and maintain documentation with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.Ability to work in a large team environment with members of diverse cultures and backgrounds.Self-starter with high personal drive and a positive attitude.Disciplined and accountable for supporting and maintaining work products.Behaves in a respectful and professional manner, maintaining high integrity and transparency when delivering work.Excellent problem solver and critical thinker.Proven ability to participate in teams including interacting effectively with people from diverse cultures, to achieve outcomes and assist others to work effectively to develop new ideas and ways of operating. The successful applicant will be required to be based in Darwin for the duration of the contract.
