UGL's utilities business undertakes essential design & construction services for critical infrastructure in the power and water sectors. Our end-to-end delivery ranges from transmission lines, switchyards, substations, electrical distribution through to water and wastewater treatment plants and water pipelines.
Our expertise includes the design, construct, commission, operate and maintain where our Utilities Team safely leads and delivers design & construct projects across Australia. Our project delivery extends to include short and long-term contracts either through self-performance works, working with Sub-contractors or through Joint Ventures. Our work spans from the engineering design through to structural, civil, electrical installation works and commissioning.
The Opportunity UGL Utilities team are currently looking for a Project Engineer – Structures for a substation and high voltage transmission line project in WA.
Some key responsibilities of this role will include: Obtain relevant design parameter information for incorporation into detailed designs and construction specifications.Monitor quality and quantities of incoming equipment and material, check work drawings, construction and specifications against site plans and conditions and arrange corrections or modifications where necessary.Ensure project engineering completion is on time and within budget. Record completed work, costs incurred, materials used and retain progress drawings.Accurate forecasts of costs and revenue and utilise corrective action in line with JH's authority and reporting frameworks to maximise the profit margin.Assign work and assist with reviews for accuracy and adherence to required standards.Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and planning authorities to ensure satisfactory completion of structures and construction work.Requirements for this role: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent.Diploma of Project Management in Engineering Science, Building, Construction or equivalent.Master's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.Minimum 10 years engineering experience with 4+ years site based.Experience on > $50 M Projects.Project Engineer and operational experience.Ideally have experience on transmission or substation projects.What makes you right for UGL Ability to provide a safe, supportive, and positive workplace.Empower a united and collaborative culture.Deliver technical excellence and create efficient, innovative solutions.Build an enviable reputation and the trust of employees, clients, and other stakeholders.Genuine concern for safety and the environment.About Us UGL is well-known and respected for providing end-to-end engineering, construction and maintenance services within, rail and transport, communications and technology systems, oil and gas, power, renewables and resources, water and defence markets.
