The Opportunity We are looking for a Project Engineer to join our growing Townsville team.
This newly created position will support the successful delivery of our multi-discipline, Greenfield and Brownfield projects, from study phase, through to execution and handover.
We are a seasoned, and collaborative team of engineering, design and project delivery professionals, keen for you to join us with your innovative ideas and the opportunity for you to broaden your experience.
Responsibilities: Effective management of work programmes to safely deliver multiple projects concurrently Manage scope, cost, schedule, quality and resources throughout the project lifecycle to achieve client objectives, ranging from multidisciplinary Engineering and Design to full EPCM Programming and planning of the works, including the preparation, monitoring and updating of plans, working to weekly and monthly programs Engage with internal stakeholders, including engineering and design teams across multiple locations, to ensure they are well informed of project objectives, scope and progress Interpret engineering designs and deliverables, collaborating across internal engineering and design teams for effective, innovative technical solutions Maintain project tracking, report status updates and effectively escalate any major issues promptly to the leadership team Analyse complex issues and develop effective strategies to deliver solutions Identify risks and opportunities, enabling their visibility amongst stakeholders and ensuring relevant mitigation controls are in place Facilitate and participate in project deliverables review meetings Proactively engage and collaborate effectively, navigate complex issues and continue to strengthen respectful relationships with our valued clients and stakeholders Execute a working knowledge of contractual and legislation relevant to the project The Ideal Candidate: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Project Management (or other related discipline) Ideally 3+ years post graduate engineering experience in a similar role in the mineral resource, materials handling or energy sectors Experience related to civil, structural, mechanical and electrical infrastructure works is preferable Computer skills, including Microsoft Suite and MS Projects.
CAD and/or GIS experience favourable Lead by example, creating a culture of safety, quality, and environmental awareness Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, you are capable of engaging and influencing stakeholders at all organisational levels The ability to work autonomously, to organise and prioritise demands and handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously Knowledge of project financial management, forecasting and contracts management functions Familiarity with scheduling and cost controls systems Motivated and energetic team player About BG&E Resources QLD?
