About the role
The Project Engineer (Development) - Track and Civil is responsible for delivering the development phases of Track and Civil projects within V/Line's Major Periodic Maintenance (MPM) Program. This role involves ensuring projects are planned and executed according to V/Line's Design Management Procedure and MPM Framework requirements.
Key accountabilities include:

Provide engineering and project management support for the MPM Program.
Engage with stakeholders to ensure compliance and develop cost-effective solutions.
Conduct site investigations and coordinate various assessments.
Ensure design works align with V/Line's procedures and manage Safety in Design (SiD) workshops.
Prepare and manage project documentation, including Change Requests and approvals.
Collaborate with Asset Planning Engineers and participate in lessons learned workshops.

About you
The ideal candidate for the Project Engineer (Development) - Track and Civil role is a highly skilled professional with experience in railway infrastructure projects. They possess strong project management abilities and excel in stakeholder engagement, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently and effectively. You will possess:

Proven experience in the design and/or delivery of railway Track and Civil projects.
Strong application of project and program management principles, methods, and techniques.
Ability to work autonomously and collaborate across multiple areas.
Experience with government agency stakeholder management.
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Creative thinker who remains calm under pressure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with Safety in Design (SiD) processes and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in conducting site investigations and coordinating various assessments.
Demonstrated alignment to V/Line's values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership and human rights.

Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, preferably Civil, Mechanical, Railway, or similar.
Valid Driver's License.

Desirable

Formal qualifications in project management at a vocational or tertiary education level suitable for accreditation in Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM).
Level 1 Train Track Safety Awareness (TTSA) / Personal Track Safety; willingness to obtain one.
Construction Induction Training (White Card).
