The Project Director will be responsible for leading a small team to deliver the agency's project and other capital works projects, including managing contractor performance, focusing on stakeholder requirements and ensuring safety and compliance.
Duties / Tasks: Develop, implement and evaluate project plans and schedules in accordance with the agency's project management framework and consider project interdependencies. Oversee project design, governance arrangements and operational integration. Develop detailed scope to relocate basement backbone switches. Develop a detailed scope to build a new infrastructure LAN and associated build room in a current active space that supplies network connectivity to the current building. Develop a detailed scope for the internal design of agency ICT network. Audit of physical cabling that connect upstream and downstream identifying and ensuring all floor distribution switches have dual connections. Coordination of condition assessment, design, and replacement of agency ICT backbone network equipment in all floor communications rooms. Coordination internal to the agency for the inclusion of a new AV solution on to the existing ICT network. Coordination of the agency's outsourced service provider services in support of fit-out activities. Stakeholder engagement and presentation of ICT requirements, findings and final designs. Report on project objectives and outputs for presentation to the executive and oversee ongoing project reporting. Oversee, review and advise on written material including business cases, plans, reports, executive and ministerial briefs and corporate documentation. Plan, manage and monitor financial budgets and oversee the management of contracts, procurement, resources and expenditure. Identify, assess, manage, escalate, report and monitor project risks, issues and benefits, including developing treatment strategies. Analyse project performance and oversee quality management to ensure that project deliverables are fit for purpose and meet client needs. Drive innovation, manage and lead change, and actively contribute to and implement the agency's strategic direction. Engage, negotiate and manage key strategic stakeholder relationships to deliver projects and respond to changes in needs and expectations. Exercise delegations appropriate to role in accordance with legislation and guidelines. Primary Knowledge/Skills/Systems/Tools required for role include: Parliamentary TV (ParlTV), ICON racks, Cyber LAN, Access Layer Passive Infrastructure, Ministerial Communications Network (MCN), Security systems, Telstra NTU, Wide Area Network (WAN), Backbone Passive Infrastructure, Access Layer Active infrastructure, Access Layer Passive Infrastructure, Removal of Redundant Services.
