Role: Project Development Officer
Role Summary: My client is looking for a driven and results-focused Project Development Officer to join their innovative team in the renewable energy sector.
The successful candidate will oversee the entire lifecycle of renewable energy projects, from initial concept to final implementation, ensuring they meet our organizational objectives and comply with regulatory standards.
This position demands strategic foresight, stakeholder collaboration, and technical expertise to deliver sustainable energy solutions.
Primary Responsibilities: Project Discovery and Feasibility:Identify and assess potential renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, BESS, and other green energy sources.Perform site evaluations, feasibility studies, and risk assessments to gauge project potential.Stakeholder Relations:Develop and sustain relationships with landowners, government bodies, community groups, and other key stakeholders.Act as the company's representative in public forums, meetings, and regulatory hearings.Project Planning and Execution:Lead the creation of project proposals, covering technical, financial, and environmental aspects.Manage the permitting process, ensuring adherence to local, regional, and national regulations.Work with cross-functional teams, including engineering, finance, and legal, to achieve project milestones.Financial and Contract Oversight:Create and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are cost-effective and profitable.Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, contractors, and other third parties.Monitoring and Reporting:Track project progress and prepare regular updates for internal and external stakeholders.Identify and resolve potential issues to keep projects on schedule and within budget.Sustainability and Innovation:Advocate for the integration of innovative technologies and sustainable practices in project development.Stay informed about industry trends, policies, and emerging opportunities to guide strategic decisions.Qualifications and Skills: Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).At least 3 years of experience in renewable energy project development or a related field.Strong knowledge of renewable energy technologies, permitting processes, and regulatory frameworks.Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience in stakeholder engagement.Proficiency in project management tools and software.Excellent written and verbal presentation skills.Eligibility to live and work in Australia.Demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.If you are keen on this position and have the skillsets to excel, please do not hesitate to reach out for a chat!
