Job Description
The Project
ACCIONA has been selected to deliver Western Harbour Tunnel – Stage 2, Sydney's third harbour crossing. The new Western Harbour Tunnel (WHT) will connect to WestConnex at the Rozelle Interchange, cross underneath Sydney Harbour between Birchgrove and Waverton, and connect with the Warringah Freeway near North Sydney.
Project scope includes:
Construction of approximately 4.8 kilometres of mainline tunnels with three lanes in each direction. Civil, Mechanical and Electrical fitout of Stage 1 and Stage 2 tunnels. Surface level work, including on and off ramps and tie-in work to the Warringah Freeway. In line with the above, ACCIONA is looking for a Project Analyst to join the finance team on Western Harbour Tunnel—Stage 2. As the Project Analyst , you will support the Cost Control function to ensure costs and forecasts are accurately known and controlled.
Specific Tasks Include
Perform detailed financial analysis and reporting to support project cost management and control. Work closely with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment with financial goals and objectives. Monitor budget and expenditure changes, providing regular updates on project status to assist Engineers and the broader project team in decision-making. Use earned value management tools to analyse data and offer insights on project performance. Investigate unusual trends in cost codes, dockets, and invoices. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the cost control function. Reconcile intercompany recharges with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Present reports and provide concise, actionable insights to the senior leadership team. Required Skills and Competencies
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce/Business (or similar). Experience in a similar position. Proven expertise in Excel for data analysis, financial modeling, and reporting. Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail in reviewing and interpreting financial data. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, particularly in dealing with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Experience in creating and presenting reports, with the ability to provide clear and concise reviews of activities. Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with integrity. Experience with Power BI is highly regarded. What we offer
