Program Director - Contracts Management

About the Role: Sharp and Carter are to bring to market a 6 month temporary contract for an experienced Program Director for Contract Management (Frameworks & Governance) with a large complex QLD State Government department. The successful candidate will lead and enhance contract management practices within a major built infrastructure initiative. This is a strategic role responsible for providing expert advice, leading business improvement projects, and ensuring robust governance frameworks for built infrastructure contracts.
Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic advice to senior executives on contract management and contractor engagement practices.Engage and collaborate with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.Act as the 'Business Owner' for contract management frameworks and governance.Review current practices and identify opportunities for improvement.Advocate for the enhancement of contract management practices across the division.Contribute to project planning, including prioritization, resource allocation, and project scheduling.Provide technical direction and support to contract management project teams.Ensure compliance with legislative and government requirements.Develop and review business cases for the procurement and implementation of contract management systems.Resolve complex contractual and contractor engagement issues.About You: Extensive experience in contract management frameworks and governance for built infrastructure.Proven track record in managing large and complex contracts, particularly in construction and maintenance.Executive or senior leadership experience in large organizations, with public sector experience being an advantage.Experience in business improvement projects or continuous improvement initiatives.The ability to build relationships with a diverse stakeholder group.There are two large and complex business improvement projects, at differing stages, that directly relate to uplifting the maturity of the Infrastructure Services Division's contract management practices for built infrastructure, including the development, implementation and ongoing governance of contract management & contractor engagement frameworks, processes & procedures.
