Position Details: Institute of Health and Wellbeing – Mt Helen, Berwick or Gippsland CampusFull-time, continuing appointmentAcademic Level E - $203,919 p.a. plus up to 17% superannuationPosition closing date: 24/11/2024About the role We are seeking an experienced Nursing Academic with a passion for leading and driving initiatives in a growing University. As the Professor, Nursing and Head of Discipline, you will be responsible for strategic leadership within the Institute and represent the Discipline internally and with industry and professional bodies to ensure discipline activities are recognised both nationally and/or internationally. This is also an exceptional opportunity for high performing Associate Professors looking to step into a Professorial role. The nursing discipline has around 50 Academic staff and constitutes the largest discipline at Federation University Australia. The nursing leadership at the University consists of the Head of Discipline supported by four Associate Heads of Disciplines who hold several portfolios pertinent to the running of the discipline.
Your Responsibilities: Provide academic leadership and managerial decision-making in Nursing.Provide leadership for the development, implementation, and monitoring of student retention and success strategies.Foster meaningful partnerships with industry, government, and community groups.Lead, develop, and maintain an international research profile, contributing to the growth of the Institute through research and teaching.About you To be considered for this position, you will have demonstrated:
An outstanding international scholarly reputation including an outstanding record of research publications in refereed international journals in Nursing.Experience in establishing, leading, and managing research groups.Extensive leadership and management experience, including a strong record of supervising Doctoral students to completion.Strong industry connections with industry, government, and community groups in Nursing.Ability to travel between Victorian campuses regularly.All University positions delivering education and/or services to children must hold a valid Working With Children Check (WWCC).
