An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Production Engineer to drive operational excellence at Coregas' integrated industrial gas facility at Port Kembla.
The Job The Port Kembla facility is Australia's largest Air Separation Unit (ASU) plant, supplying thousands of tonnes of oxygen, nitrogen and argon to the BlueScope Steel facility every day.
The 24/7 integrated site also produces and exports large volumes of cryogenic liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon to hundreds of customers across Australia every day, for a huge range of applications including hospitals, fabrication, manufacturing and food.
Coupled with this the site is also a significant producer of gaseous hydrogen for the steelworks and customers across the country.
In this role, you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Ensuring full compliance to safe work procedures for both operations and maintenance activity, as per company policies and relevant legislationsEfficiently coordinating day-to-day operational activity and plant loadings to meet requirements, consistent with budgetsManaging and planning activities impacting operations at Port Kembla, aligning with Coregas maintenance, supply chain, 3rd party merchant customersRoot cause investigations as required as part of continuous improvementReporting and performance analysisManaging tonnage LEAN activity from opportunity identification through to successful delivery to achieve improvement targetsThe Requirement To be considered for this role, you must have/ be:
A tertiary degree in Chemical Engineering (highly desirable), or other relevant engineering degreeAt least 5 years experience in similar roleSound understanding of safe work practices for maintenance activitiesCompetence in risk assessment and root cause analysis methodologyKnowledge and familiarity to work in a unionised environmentKnowledge and familiarity to LEAN methodologies, continuous improvement, be a Change ChampionStrong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with ability to build and maintain professional rapport with stakeholders of all levelsStrong ability to work unsupervised and independently, as well as part of a teamStrong commitment to delivery objectives with a structured approach and high attention to detailStrong ability to work well under operational and time pressures, without compromising safety, quality and customer serviceHard-working, self-motivated, inquisitiveWhat We Can Offer You Coregas has an outstanding reputation for their commitment to their employees and encouraging both their professional and personal ambitions.
