It is a highly mineralised granite-greenstone terrain with world-class deposits of gold and nickel. St Ives has produced more than 10.5 million ounces of gold, with the first major gold mining expedition commencing in the mid-1980s.St Ives Gold Mine operates mainly on a residential basis, with employees either living in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie as well as having a fly-in and fly-out option for those not living locally.With a 10-year life of mine, stability is also on offer.Role Details:Reporting to the Senior Engineer: Mine Production, you will facilitate the safe and optimal extraction of gold from the Underground mining operations (Invincible UG). In compliance with site standards, you will be responsible for drill and blast designs and production scheduling in line with short to medium-term plans.Safety is a core value at Gold Fields, and we expect all levels of employees to always act in a manner that seeks to enhance the safety culture and performance of our company.This role can be offered as residential in Kambalda or Kalgoorlie or Fly in Fly out from Perth on 8 days on 6 days off roster. Bus transportation is offered to and from the site for residential candidates and relocation assistance will be offered to the successful candidate if required.Benefits include:Quarterly Bonus SchemeSalary sacrifice optionsIncreased annual leave entitlements.Long service leave pro-rata after 5 years of continuous serviceEducational assistanceAbout the role:Develop and Implement a 3-weekly production plan in line with operational targets set by monthly and quarterly plans.Contribute to the stope reconciliation, as well as continuous improvement of dilution and recovery in stopes through design optimization.Develop Stope Extraction Plans promptly which include designing final stope shapes and identifying execution risks and mitigating controls.Liaise with the operational and technical teams for short to medium-term schedule implementation.Keep the Underground Manager informed of any issues that could impact safe and efficient production through regular, clear communication.Be organized and prepared to undertake additional/alternative responsibilities as reasonably requested by the Senior Engineer or Underground Manager.About you:Hold a Bachelor Engineering degree in Mining Engineer or equivalent.Proven underground hard rock engineering experience, with drill and blast design, preferably gold.Be team-orientated.Demonstrated exposure to Mining software Deswik CAD and OPS is essential.Possess a valid Driver's Licence.Can mentor and develop the capability of Graduate Engineers.Applications can be submitted via: https://careers.goldfields.com/AustraliaWe are committed to achieving a diverse and inclusive workforce and strongly encourage applications from female, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, as well as candidates with culturally diverse backgrounds.
