Destination Sport Experiences Product Manager This hybrid role is based in our Sydney, NSW office, you must live within a commutable distance. Destination Sport Experiences, through its global sports travel brands Marathon Tours & Travel and Sportive Breaks cater for those who want to participate in the very best cycling and running events across the world.
All three brands offer tours, travel packages, and guaranteed entry to marathons and cycling events around the world, together with VIP hospitality access to many of the top professional cycling events as well as managing travel programs for mass participation events on behalf of charities, companies, and groups throughout the year.
We are a proud partner of many of the Abbott World Marathon Majors and work closely with major sports events organisers across the globe.
The team behind Destination Sport Experiences regularly participate in running and cycling events, as well as helping to manage events and support our clients on their journey through each event, so we understand the needs of those travelling with us.
Due to an exciting year of growth, we are now looking for a Product Manager to join our Sydney-based team to specialise & manage our portfolio of Marathon events.
Our Product Manager will manage the events from initial planning & contracting right through to planning the delivery of the event.
This is a varied, hands-on role and on a typical day you will: Plan the operational delivery of events, working alongside the International Delivery teamBuild event itineraries taking into consideration budgets & travel logisticsPrepare the pre-departure informationLiaise with hotels, transport companies, event organisers, and other external suppliers to ensure all elements of the event are confirmed & accurateNegotiate rates & terms with 3rd party providersWhere necessary, manage the tender process with suppliersManage the product and keep the website up to dateEnsure the product is loaded correctly onto the website for saleConstantly monitor the sales position and suggest appropriate course of action depending upon the positionWork closely with our internal Sales and Marketing teamsNew product developmentTo be successful within this role, our ideal candidate will: Have working experience within a similar role within the travel industry (sports travel experience would be highly desirable)Demonstrate a passion for our core offering of sports travelBe confident in planning & managing own tripsHave extensive product knowledge & experience specifically in planning triathlon, marathon, or cycling eventsPossess excellent planning and event management skillsBe confident with contracting & demonstrate strong negotiation skillsPossess excellent communication skills both verbal & writtenBe a self-starter with the ability to manage the logistics of an eventHave the ability to prioritise workloadBe customer-focused & have excellent relationship-building skillsEnjoy working as part of a teamHave strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Outlook, and demonstrate intermediate to advanced Excel skillsBe willing to travel domestically & internationally per business needsSo if you have a passion for sports and are looking for your next challenge, take a look and get in touch, we'd love to hear from you!
