Procurement Specialist - Packaging

Purchasing, Procurement & Inventory (Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics) Full time Add expected salary to your profile for insights Our client is well known across the consumer products space, and after recent expansion, they are looking for a procurement category specialist/buyer to manage their packaging category, and add headcount to their global procurement team.Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring their manufacturing and operations departments have all the packaging they need to deliver for client orders, sourcing additional suppliers and staying across the market for pricing and commodity changes, to ensure best price is always front of mind.Our client has a passion for culture, so this role is working five days a week in the office, with flexibility when required. Their environment is highly engaging and you will be working side by side with your key stakeholders on a daily basis.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the end to end process for packaging materials, direct and indirectDriving cost saving initiativesManaging supplier selection, onboarding and regular communicationWork alongside key internal stakeholders to develop and deliver on sourcing strategiesNegotiate with suppliers on commercial aspects and formalise agreements within internal legal teamDevelop purchasing models which ensure you always have Tier 1 & 2 suppliersConduct and formalise category strategies analysis staying close to market knowledge and trendsRequired Knowledge:Bachelor's degree or similarExtensive experience working within a packaging category (multiple technologies)Experience working across FMCGAnalytical mindset with the ability to think 'outside the box'Strong experience across contract negotiationsExcellent communication skills with the ability to work closely with both internal and external stakeholdersIn return, our client can offer an environment which promotes diversity, inclusion, well being and further training and development.
