Procurement Specialist (Materials)

The Opportunity At APA, our purpose is simple: to strengthen communities through responsible energy.
Reporting directly to the Manager Networks Procurement, you will be responsible for the development of critical materials category plans and implementation of sourcing strategies that support optimal commercial outcomes to meet business requirements.
Categories that are directly managed by the Procurement Specialist will generally contain high complexity and value contractual arrangements representing a medium to high risk to APA.
Key Responsibilities: Developing direct materials category plans, sourcing strategies as well as supplier relationships that support the realisation of value Manage procurement contracts across the lifecycle including negotiation, establishment, amendment and performance reviews Delivering on initiatives and/or benefit targets established through category management and strategic sourcing activities Supporting an effective transition from contract implementation to key stakeholder operational contract management Influencing through business partnering to drive continuous improvement as well as support delivery of business strategies and deliverables Your background: Recognised procurement qualification or business experience in a similar role Member Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (MCIPS) or working towards Demonstrated experience in strategic sourcing, contract development, supplier relationship and contract management Ability to influence, develop and implement strategy to achieve outcomes.
Strong leadership and coaching experience, including the ability to effectively manage personnel performance and champion safety in the workplace.
About the Team: Networks manage and operates transmission pipelines and local distribution networks that deliver gas to around 1.4 million households and businesses across Australia.
This is an exciting time for the Networks team, we are growing and expanding with many new projects.
