Procurement Specialist (VPS6) Procurement Specialist role available at a Local Government department Melbourne VIC 3000 6-month temporary contract | Commencing mid December Hybrid opportunities available Position Overview Opportunity available for a highly experienced Procurement Specialist to join a government organisation for a six-month temporary contract.
This role will involve providing expert guidance and leadership in procurement activities for a high-value and complex ICT procurement project.
The successful candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams and the Communities and Families Transformation Program (CFTP) Procurement Lead, ensuring all procurement activities are conducted in compliance with policy, probity, and governance requirements.
Key Responsibilities Deliver expert advice on all aspects of procurement processes, compliance, policy, and approval frameworks for a significant ICT project.
Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including developing procurement documents, leading evaluations, and supporting contract negotiations.
Ensure value-for-money outcomes through the application of rigorous sourcing and analysis methodologies.
Provide probity oversight, risk analysis, and develop mitigation strategies where necessary.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including technical subject matter experts, probity advisors, and auditors, to achieve project objectives.
Foster strong working relationships to enhance the organisation's business partnering approach.
Maintain meticulous records in accordance with departmental and legislative requirements.
About You To excel in this role, candidates must possess: Extensive experience in government procurement , particularly for high-value and complex ICT projects.
Proficiency in preparing high-quality documentation, including procurement plans, evaluation plans, and tender documentation.
In-depth knowledge of ICT sourcing and procurement, especially for multi-vendor and system integrator environments.
Strong stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
A tertiary qualification in commerce, procurement, law, or a related discipline (highly desirable).
