An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Procurement Specialist to join our team on a full-time basis. You are a respected & highly regarded professional of your craft who will be responsible for the strategic sourcing & buying process. Working with both local and international suppliers , you will be required to monitor and report domestic and global market trends, negotiate and advise on price increases and the impact, including mitigation opportunities to offset price movements.
Reporting into the portfolio General Manager – Procurement (Food), you are a passionate & supportive team player who thrives in a process driven environment, but also knows how to steer through times of uncertainty & the ‘grey’. This role requires an autonomous self-starter who can maintain and develop successful relationships with numerous stakeholders geographically dispersed.
A Day in the Life
Prepare and run sourcing events including RFQ/RFP/RFI, online auction, collaborative sourcing, multi-event negotiations, etc. Use e-tendering including E Reverse Auctions to ensure best market value.
Performing opportunity analysis to identify projects that will deliver significant hard and soft savings and v A strong negotiator and proven procurement professional who can manage supplier relationships at varying levels including supplier executives.
Great interpersonal and communication skills which is instrumental to maintaining positive relationships with business stakeholders. Articulate presenter with the ability to summarise key projects succinctly and accurately
Experience in large organisations with complex operating environments
Strong procurement knowledge gained through relevant experience
Ability to prioritise multiple demands and analyse situations to problem solve effectively
Build and support a portfolio of categories, specifically Non-Food products and/or services
Support the General Manager in building sourcing strategies that enable Compass to optimise its buying power across all markets
Conduct industry analysis supporting business stakeholders with a commercial understanding of the market place
Assist General Manager in the provision of proactive insights with a view to development of long term potential sourcing strategies
Execute best sourcing procurement process
Support the delivery of a range of products/services maximising business profitability and service needs considering both lifecycle and associated costs
Demonstrate a clear understanding of the relationship between all pricing levels versus market to make business pricing recommendations
Tertiary education is highly desirable, with a Procurement & Supply Chain focus: CIPS, IFPSM or AAPCM qualification an added advantage
Excellent organisational skills
Intermediate/excellent level of MS Office including advanced excel Skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills – demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a positive relationship with business stakeholders
Procurement knowledge gained through category assistant or buying experience
