Could you be our next Procurement Manager? On a 6-month contract, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for managing the procurement of all packaging and ingredients and overseeing the spend of non-inventory items. This role involves establishing and maintaining supply agreements with key suppliers, ensuring supplier data and price integrity within the ERP system, setting up and conducting quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers, ensuring supplier delivery in full on time (DIFOT), and supporting new product development (NPD) and existing product development (EPD) cost-out activities.
What can you expect day-to-day? Procurement Management Identify and source all packaging materials and ingredients required for production. Negotiate and establish supply agreements with reliable suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely delivery. Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to identify and maintain optimum stock levels and align procurement activities with organisational goals and priorities. Work with warehouse management to ensure the integrity and accuracy of inventory is always maintained. Review all non-inventory spend and identify opportunities for improvements and savings. Develop and manage procurement KPI dashboards metrics, budgets, forecasts, and cost reduction initiatives. Implement best practices and tools to optimise procurement workflows and decision-making. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers. Establish an onboarding process for new suppliers. Work closely with QA manager and QA team to ensure any quality issues with suppliers are addressed promptly, ensuring all of our purchased materials meet minimum specification standards. Ensure supplier compliance with quality standards and delivery schedules. Conduct quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with suppliers to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement. ERP System Management Maintain accurate supplier data and price information within the ERP system. Ensure data integrity and conduct regular audits to verify accuracy. Supplier Delivery Performance (DIFOT) Monitor and manage supplier delivery in full on time (DIFOT) metrics. Implement corrective actions with suppliers to address any delivery performance issues. Support NPD and EPD Activities Collaborate with the new product development (NPD) and existing product development (EPD) teams to support cost-out activities. Source and negotiate pricing for new ingredients and packaging required for product innovations. Cost Management Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality. Track and report on procurement cost performance and savings achieved. Compliance and Risk Management Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and industry standards. Identify and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain. To be successful in the role, you will have: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, preferably within the food processing industry. Strong negotiation and supplier management skills. Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
