Job DescriptionRole OverviewThis is a full-time on-site opportunity located in Westbury, Tasmania for a Production Operator with Extruder operation experience. This permanent opportunity offers great career prospects with a privately owned global leader in aquaculture feeds, operating inside an international network. The Process Operator (Extruder) role is responsible for running the Extruder Production line as well as the quality and throughput of the line, as well as being cross-trained to cover other production work stations such as raw material intake and packing operations.Our operations run 24 hours, currently with 4 x 12 hour rotating shifts but with a forward projection of increased rosters to meet growing demand.Onsite car parking, uniform and laundry services are included when you join our team.Salary range: $85,000 – $100,000 + 5% variable bonus & overtimeReporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this opportunity will see you:Operate mill and extrusion equipment within operating and safety guidelinesPerform equipment troubleshooting and adjustments as requiredContinually monitor production versus plan status across the millActively participate in the shift handover processCapture and interpret data through visual systemsUndertake safety, quality and environmental procedures, processed and checks as requiredContribute to basic operator equipment maintenance (OEM) and work area management (WAM) projectsMaintain a high level of workplace safety and activities to support our safety first, zero harm ethosSkills, Knowledge and ExperienceMinimum 3-4 years manufacturing (operational) experience or other high-risk environment (desirable)Previous experience as an extruder or process operatorA strong commitment to safety and continuous improvementDemonstrated ability to function well under pressure, solution-oriented with a collaborative mindsetExperience and knowledge of computer-controlled machinery, methodical and detailed reporting and registration of key production dataStrong level of literacy and computer skillsDemonstrated communication skills across verbal and written systems and structuresQualificationsTrade qualification or other vocational certificateLicense to Perform High Risk Work (Fork Lift)To apply, please submit your CV and a cover letter.Applications close 09 February 2025.For more information or to request a copy of the position description, please contact application will be considered on arrival and once the right candidate has been found we reserve the right to hire before closing date.DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION IN RECRUITMENTThere's a real focus here on creating an atmosphere, support networks and opportunities in which you can speak up, flourish and grow.
