About The Role
The Division is the custodian of offender management which incorporates the delivery of evidenced based assessments, strategy and development, rehabilitation programs, education, employment and transitional services, psychological assessment and counselling support, health and sentence management.
The Education and Vocational Training Unit work towards assisting students to acquire, develop, practice and apply the knowledge, skills and attitudes they need now, and in the future to take responsible control of their own lives.
The Prisoner Education Coordinator works as a team member to provide a comprehensive education and vocational training service to clients. They assist with educational responsibilities that relate to educational process, including curriculum, teaching, assessing, staff development and industry liaison.
As part of the Education & Vocational Training team, the successful applicant will be expected to:
Work to improve communication and model integrity and respect in all interactions,Operate within the Department's Corporate Governance Framework, policies and procedures and ensure effective transparency and accountability of all Department activity,Operate within the chain of command to coordinate activities required to meet the Department's strategic objectives,Work collaboratively to achieve common goals and best practice and facilitate business improvements as appropriate,Facilitate cultural and management reforms within the Department through leadership and engagement,Represent the Department's interest on committees and working groups as required.
Eligibility
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification – including teaching or equivalentCertificate IV Training and Assessment (or completes within six months of employment)
Permanent positions
To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.
