• Location – Haymarket/Hybrid
• Employment type – Temporary up to 6 months with possibility of extension
• Work type – job share, part time 3 days per week
• Grade/Salary – Pro rata starting at $ 98,804 per annum plus employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading
Your roleThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced psychologist to provide strategic leadership in psychological services and programs delivered within Corrective Services NSW.
In this role, you'll co-lead the Office of the Principal Psychologist, drive high-level advice on policy to the Executive, supervise Chief Psychologists, and ensure quality in the assessment and treatment of individuals in custody.
You'll also advocate for psychologists, supporting professional standards and contributing to key departmental initiatives.
What you'll doAs co-lead of the Office of the Principal Psychologist, you will:
Set professional standards for psychological practice.Provide strategic advice on psychology service delivery.Oversee report quality.Provide supervision to chief psychologists, ensuring effective delivery of clinical supervision and forensic interventions.Liaise with government departments and external agencies.Advocate for the psychological workforce in line with award standards.You'll be part of a highly collaborative team in a dynamic, supportive environment.
What we're looking forExtensive experience in clinical supervision and psychological assessment, particularly within correctional environments.Strong knowledge of current psychological practices and treatment programs for adults who offend.Proven ability to develop policy and provide strategic advice to enhance psychological service delivery.Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to advocate for staff and maintain high professional standards.Essential requirementsPost-graduate tertiary qualifications in psychology (Masters level or higher).Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia.Eligibility to be accredited as a supervisor.Experience working in forensic or correctional psychology settings.If you are viewing this ad in Seek and wish to apply via their portal, you will be required to either set up a profile or login via your existing Seek account.
