You will work with internal and external stakeholders, both within the DRDMW and with other agencies. You will collaborate with these stakeholders, maintain a high level of professionalism, have the ability to make things happen, communicate and drive strategies to produce results collegially and develop productive relationships. You will need to quickly learn new content, deploy resources smartly including through effective contract management, identify project risks/issues and connect multiple parts of the water business and government priorities at the state and local government levels to achieve desirable outcomes for water resource management across Queensland.Key AccountabilitiesProvide timely, expert and authoritative advice on complex and emerging issues relevant to water resource management and mine closure.Devise and implement project plans, engagement strategies and recommendations to advance key projects and coordinate input from other subject matter experts, and other agencies or stakeholder groups as required.Oversight of contractors and consultants engaged to support the delivery of projects and initiatives.Conduct and coordinate substantial research, analysis and interpretation of information to support the delivery of programs and projects relating to water resource management and mine closure.Develop and maintain constructive working relationships and networks with internal and external stakeholders.Prepare and/or oversee the preparation of complex high-quality reports, briefing notes, presentations, speeches, publications and correspondence for Cabinet, Committees, Industry/Stakeholder Working Groups, the Minister and senior departmental management.Represent the Department at State/Commonwealth conferences, internal/external meetings and committees, inter-agency and inter-jurisdictional working groups.Manage, mentor, coach and develop staff to ensure the necessary skills, expertise and motivation are available to respond to opportunities for innovation, service delivery requirements and team performance is to a high standard.About YouThere are no mandatory requirements for this role however, tertiary qualifications and/or relevant experience in natural resource management, environmental science and management or environmental law would be highly regarded.The BenefitsGenerous State government employee benefitsPersonalised Flexible Working ArrangementsInclusive work environment with career developmentDRDMW is committed to respecting, protecting and promoting human rights in our decision-making and actions.
