The Department of Health plays a critical role in the Victorian health system and is responsible for shaping it to meet the health needs of all Victorians. About the role: The Principal Policy Adviser role is responsible for supporting the understanding and delivery of the department's strategic financial investment in Victoria's health system, health service financial sustainability and to be the interface between the Department of Health and health services. Against the context of increased financial sustainability challenges for Victoria's health services, this position is part of a specialist branch that coordinates the financial performance of health services.
How you'll make a difference: The Principal Policy Adviser role is responsible for translating analysis of funding adequacy for investment decisions and understanding the key drivers across Victorian health services. This role leads the development of advice on overall public health services financial sustainability to inform Hospitals Victoria. The role reports directly to the Director, Health Service Financial Performance and supports the financial performance partners for public health services and hospitals. The role will require close working relationships with senior stakeholders across the Department and Victorian health sector to ensure clear reporting, messaging to government and ensuring tight timelines are adhered to.
