Principal Network Architect, Ongoing, SYDNEY - Location Flexible
The NSW Telco
Authority is looking for a Principal Network Architect lead architecture of the
Wide Area Networks-WAN and related strategic programs, to meet customer and
broader government objectives.

Your role will involve:
Design and Architecture for NSW Telco Authority – Government Radio Network backhaul network based on IPMPLS-TE.Design and Architecture of protocols such as OSPFBGP, RSVP-TE, MPLS L2 and L3 VPNs, QoS, ITU-T Y.1731, among others resulting in better network performance, less downtime and improved service capabilities.Provide expert advise for the strategic evolution NSW Telco Authority Wide Area Network (WAN) backhaul technologies as well as Local Area Networks (LAN).Develop network technology documentation, recommendations, and guidelines, as well as maintain and communicate network policies, standards, specifications.Work with existing Network Team on Design, Architecture and deployment of Software Defined Wide Area Networks (SDWAN)Solid understanding of technologies such as Software Defined Networks, Automation and Orchestration and how they can be applied to NSW Telco Authority’s WAN, LAN and Datacentre networks.Document and updated existing network diagrams as well as audit of current information. Responsible to correct when files do not reflect status. Work closely with the Cyber Security team on Network security compliance as well as technical control implementation when required. Identify stakeholder requirements, prioritise workload and manage team portfolios to meet agreed outcomes and timeframes to ensure prompt resolution of issues Staying abreast of emerging issues, risks and opportunities impacting network security within NSW government and nationally, provide timely and relevant advice to the Manager on emerging topics or issues Experience and technical understanding of Mobile Networks and their Core Network elements (LTE EPC) would be beneficial.
To be
successful, you will demonstrate:
Knowledge of, or the ability to quickly acquire knowledge of cyber security subject matterRelevant certifications in Networking, IT andor Network SecurityAn ability to work effectively working on simultaneous projects within defined timeframes and in an environment of conflicting and changing priorities A finesse at maintaining effective relationships and knowledge of NSW government responsibilities, activities and operations in a changing environment Experience preparing and reviewing briefs and submissions, undertaking research and analysisStrong stakeholder communication and coordination skills, in forums such as working groups, committee meetings, and stakeholder consultationsAn ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge on Networking, Software Defined Networks, SDWAN, Network Security, networking trendsQualifications, certifications or experience relevant to cyber security will be highly regarded. Advanced skills on IP, MPLS, Traffic Engineering, Quality of Service, routing protocols, Software Define Wide Area Networks - SDWAN, Network Security

About NSW Telco Authority

The Telco Authority is working with emergency services organisations and other
partners to design and build the next generation of operational communications
services to help protect NSW communities.
This includes the Critical Communications Enhancement Program which is
expanding the government radio network to deliver a Public Safety Network for
frontline responders. The enhanced network is pivotal to the development of a
national Public Safety Mobile Broadband capability and the delivery of key
government initiatives including Regional Digital Connectivity and the NSW
Mobile Black Spot Program among others.

Salary Grade 1112, with the base salary for this role starting
at $128,473 base plus superannuation
