You will have the opportunity to influence the Department's media and social media channels and work with senior departmental officers to directly contribute to successfully managing the reputation of the Department.
As a key leader within the Media team and across the Communications unit, you will work closely with the Media Manager to enable a collaborative team culture.

About the role: In this role you will:
Demonstrate good time management skills demonstrating high proficiency to manage both your own time as well as the team's time.
Have a deep understanding of the local and state media landscape and media needs and can transform that understanding into innovative ideas for continual improvement.
Build and nurture long-term relationships with senior leaders across the department as well as key contacts in the Minister's Office.
Write and edit high quality content for: Publications and other communication material, online and digital content including for social media and speeches, media releases, briefing notes, correspondence.
Ability to work flexible hours which may involve work outside of normal business hours.
Minimum Requirements: To be eligible for this opportunity, you must be an Australian citizen, have permanent residency status or a visa permitting you to work in Australia.
If you are not an Australian citizen, you will need to provide evidence of your residency status or visa, with your right to work (including any conditions / restrictions).
You are required to notify the department if your right to work in Australia ceases.
