About the Role We are excited to partner with a Queensland Government Department in their search for a Principal Human Resources Business Partner. In this key role, you will provide expert business partnering services, supporting line managers and executives in addressing industrial and employee relations matters with efficiency and precision.
As the ER / IR specialist on the team, you will report to the Manager of Human Resources and collaborate closely with three Senior HR Business Partners. Together, you will ensure workplace investigations, employee grievances, and conduct and performance issues are effectively managed, equipping senior management and supervisors to support their teams both now and into the future.
Key Responsibilities Provide expert advice and business partnering with senior managers, particularly regarding complex and sensitive industrial and employee relations matters including organisational change; Develop and implement long term strategies to address emerging workforce issues and build workforce capability, staff engagement and culture; Lead the review and implementation of HR policies and procedures and, deliver training to enhance performance management and employee engagement; Manage complex employee relations cases, applying legislation, case law, directives, policies, and agreements; Educate and coach stakeholders on HR strategy and best practices; Contribute to HR solutions and improve the use of HR metrics to drive business improvement. About You To be successful in this role, you will have experience in conducting workplace investigations, managing employee grievances, and handling conduct and performance issues. You will bring expertise in case management frameworks and demonstrate strong collaboration skills with teams such as Ethical Standards, Health, Safety and Wellbeing, and Organisational Culture. Additionally, you will be confident representing the organisation at the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and other relevant forums, and in engaging with external stakeholders, including workplace investigators, legal practitioners, and Counsel.
