About the Job Are you ready to elevate your career in a dynamic leadership role within SA Water's Civil engineering discipline team? Randstad is partnering with SA Water to find a passionate and skilled Principal Engineer - Civil to provide technical expertise and leadership. In this role, you will oversee and execute high-level technical investigations, designs, and governance related to water and wastewater infrastructure. Your focus will be on ensuring SA Water's success in delivering fit for purpose outcomes by providing specialist technical capability, knowledge and innovation via direct work on projects as well as through development of technical governance. As a Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) in Civil engineering, you will influence and contribute expertise across the corporation, working with both water and wastewater infrastructure. Your new role: Provide specialist design and technical governance for SA Water civil water and wastewater projects, to deliver fit for purpose outcomes for our customers. Provide technical leadership to the civil engineering team, supporting their delivery of high quality, value for money solutions in water and wastewater infrastructure. Offer timely, accurate, and cost-effective information and documentation to our business partners. Evaluate and recommend new and emerging technologies for adoption by the Corporation. Collaborate and engage effectively across multi-disciplinary teams, business partners, industry and key stakeholders. Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, codes, and SA Water's technical governance, with a focus on safety, sustainability and collaboration. Support knowledge sharing, continuous improvement and professional development across both the organisation, our partners, and the wider industry. This is an integral part of the engineering team ensuring the projects are delivered to compliance and safety in design standards, as the Principal Engineer of the Team you will need the following to be successful:
Professional qualifications in civil engineering. Postgraduate qualifications are desirable but not essential. Detailed knowledge of civil engineering procedures and practices as applied in the water industry and large engineering organisations. Experience in the provision of investigation, option, concept and detailed design of civil infrastructure (water/wastewater networks). Demonstrated experience in the execution of novel, complex and critical engineering investigations and designs. Recognition of discipline expertise by Engineers Australia is essential.
