As a Principal Electrical Engineer (Power Systems) , you will play a crucial role in designing and optimising power systems for a range of renewable energy projects. This role offers the chance to influence major projects and advance your career in a dynamic and growing industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and optimise electrical systems for wind, solar, battery storage, and pumped hydro projects
Oversee the technical aspects of project development, from initial design through to commissioning
Conduct feasibility studies and performance assessments for electrical systems
Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and grid connection requirements
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate electrical systems with renewable energy sources
Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and problem-solving efforts
Manage and mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance and support
Develop and implement strategies to enhance system efficiency and reliability
Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and documentation
Liaise with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders to ensure project success
Monitor industry trends and advancements to apply innovative solutions
Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the engineering team
Ensure alignment with project sustainability goals and client expectations
Oversee the quality assurance of engineering deliverables and project outputs
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
8+ years of experience in power systems engineering, with a focus on renewable energy projects
Expertise in designing and optimising electrical systems for wind, solar, battery storage, and pumped hydro
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, grid standards, and regulatory requirements
Proven experience in leading complex projects and managing technical teams
Proficiency in engineering software and simulation tools
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and project management skills
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement
