Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ), an integral part of the state's commitment to maritime safety, is on the lookout for a dedicated and skilled Principal Advisor (Aids to Navigation) to join our Boating Infrastructure Team within Maritime Assets and Infrastructure.
This critical role is tailor-made for an individual with a deep-seated expertise in aiding the delivery and management of vital boating infrastructure, ensuring the effective operation of our state-wide aids to navigation network across the five MSQ regions.
Role Overview
As a Principal Adviser, you will take ownership within the TMR asset management framework, shouldering the responsibility for the upkeep and supervision of the state-wide aids to navigation.
Your role will involve detailed reporting on network conditions, consulting closely with MSQ's regional personnel to enhance asset longevity, and offering informed advice to senior management on program delivery.
Your mandate will extend to the critical review and updating of the systems, standards, guidelines, and procedures pivotal to the aids to navigation.
By aligning with the MSQ/TMR asset management framework, you will ensure consistent quality and safety standards.
Leadership is key in this position as you will lead the charge in fostering a culture of continuous improvement through stakeholder collaboration, seeking innovative solutions to enhance efficiency, safety, longevity, and functionality of navigation aids.
Your insight and initiative will also contribute broadly to the Maritime Assets and Infrastructure unit's overarching Boating Infrastructure Program, where maintaining the state-wide aids to navigation is of paramount importance.

Qualifications and Conditions
A valid driver's licence is necessary for this position.
Vessel master or watchkeeper certification is highly desired to endorse your first-hand experience with Queensland's navigation network.
