Primary School Learning Support AssistantAmity College Illawarra Campus is seeking a passionate and skilled Learning Support Assistant to join our team, supporting students with identified needs across the College.
This full-time position is available from Term 1 of 2025, offering a wonderful opportunity to share your passions, talents, and love of learning with our students.
Key Responsibilities: Support class teachers in catering to the physical, intellectual, social, and emotional development of all students.Act as an additional 'helping hand' in the school and classroom, under the direction of the Learning Support Coordinator.Assist with classroom learning, small group lessons in literacy, numeracy, and other Key Learning Areas (KLAs), if needed.Perform specific tasks and responsibilities as determined by the Learning Support Coordinator, based on:Individual student needsNumber of students requiring assistancePrograms operating within the class or schoolLevel and type of individual support required for specific activitiesContextual and situational needsNumber of classes or students involvedGoals, objectives, and expected outcomes of individual student programs (ILPs)Reporting: Learning Support Assistants in Primary School report directly to the Learning Support Coordinator and support the Learning Support Staff in maximizing learning outcomes for students needing significant adjustments and interventions in their learning program.
Minimum Requirements: Previous experience in teaching or teaching support with children.Fluent in spoken and written English.Current satisfactory Working with Children Check.Experience working collaboratively with teaching staff in a classroom environment.Certificate III or IV in School-Based Education Support or equivalent competencies.Personal Attributes: Conduct all duties in a caring, collaborative, and professional manner.Regular communication with relevant staff members.Application Process: Please submit your application, including a cover letter and Curriculum Vitae with the names of three professional referees, via Seek.
