RE-ADVERTISED: We are still looking for a full-time Pre-School Teacher to join the team Ltyentye Apurte Catholic School (LACS) in Santa Teresa. This is a remarkable school in a beautiful community.
LACS is a K - 12 school in Ltyentye Apurte / Santa Teresa, a medium-sized Aboriginal Catholic community located 83 KM south east of Alice Springs. There are 40 staff and an enrolment of approximately 125 students. The school has small class sizes and features specialist facilities including a community library, STEM and home economics rooms. Every classroom has access to the internet and is fitted with PCs, laptops, iPads and interactive whiteboards. English is the second or third language for most students at the school, and the Arrernte language & culture program is a key focus of the curriculum at LACS. Teachers work as members of a team in partnership with local Aboriginal people and Arrernte Assistant Teachers. Staff members live in close proximity to each other and the school. The standard of accommodation is good.
We require a Pre-School Teacher starting at the beginning of 2021to work in our Early Learning Centre. It has an excellent reputation and a program operating five days a week - from 8:15 am to 12:30 pm. You do not have to be Catholic but you do need to be willing to support the mission of LACS and the ELC.
Requirements:
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care and / or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or actively working towards)
A current First Aid Certificate including Asthma and Anaphylaxis
Current OCHRE card (WWCC)
Demonstrated knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework
Experience working in a childcare environment
A passion for educating young children and working closely with their families
A willingness and receptiveness to self-learning and development
The ability to communicate written and verbally on all levels.
