About the Role Based in BYD's Sydney office in Macquarie Park, this role will support the PR function for our upcoming new brand. You will be responsible for managing and enhancing the public image of BYD Australia and our key management team, by creating and maintaining a positive relationship between BYD Australia and the public, utilizing various communication strategies to promote our message and reputation.
Key requirements : Media Outreach and Relationship Building : Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, influencers, and media outlets to ensure positive coverage of the company. Pitch stories, press releases, and media opportunities to secure coverage in relevant publications and platforms. Press Release Creation and Distribution : Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, media kits, and other communication materials to promote company announcements, products, and initiatives. Ensure that all communication aligns with the company's voice, brand identity, and messaging strategy. Content Creation : Develop engaging content for PR campaigns, including articles, blogs, social media posts, and newsletters, to communicate key messages effectively. Collaborate with marketing and content teams to ensure cohesive storytelling across channels. Media Monitoring and Reporting : Monitor media coverage and public sentiment related to the company and its competitors, providing regular reports to the PR Manager and senior leadership. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) for PR activities, such as media impressions, share of voice, and brand mentions. Event Support : Assist in the planning and execution of PR events, such as product launches, press conferences, and media tours. Coordinate media attendance, manage guest lists, and ensure event logistics run smoothly for maximum media exposure. Social Media Engagement : Collaborate with the social media team to manage the company's online presence, ensuring that PR-related messages are effectively communicated on digital platforms. Engage with influencers, customers, and media outlets on social media to amplify the company's reach and visibility. Crisis Communication Support : Assist in managing crisis communications by preparing statements and handling media inquiries during times of potential negative publicity. Monitor and respond to media coverage during crises, ensuring that the company's message is clear and consistent. Research and Analysis : Conduct research on industry trends, competitor activities, and media opportunities to inform PR strategies. Analyze the effectiveness of PR campaigns and provide recommendations for future initiatives based on data and feedback. Internal Communication Support : Collaborate with internal teams to ensure that employees are informed of important PR activities and campaigns. Assist in drafting internal newsletters, announcements, and other communications to align employees with the company's PR goals. Influencer Outreach : Identify and build relationships with relevant influencers and brand ambassadors to promote the company's products and services. Coordinate influencer partnerships and ensure that brand messages are communicated accurately and positively. Administrative Support : Maintain a media contact database and track all media interactions, including press coverage and follow-ups. Assist with managing PR-related budgets, invoices, and other administrative tasks as needed. Brand Reputation Management : Help monitor and protect the company's brand reputation by ensuring timely responses to media inquiries and addressing public concerns. Provide feedback to the PR Manager on potential risks and opportunities for improving public perception.
