About the RoleThe University of Melbourne is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join the ARC Digital Bioprocess Development Hub Research Program. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for modelling process performance using mechanistic models for cell culture, coupled with machine learning and data-driven computational modelling techniques.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in engineering, with a focus on fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, process control, and mathematical model development. You will also have a high proficiency in mathematics, preferably related to models, and an understanding of bioprocessing and cell culture.
Key responsibilities will include:
Developing and implementing effective research plans and timelines to achieve project goals.Liaising with collaborators and stakeholders to foster collaborative partnerships and knowledge sharing.Preparing and publishing research outcomes in conferences and journals to a high academic standard.Contributing to the research group and assisting in co-supervision of PhD and masters project students.The University of Melbourne offers a dynamic and supportive research environment, with access to state-of-the-art facilities and a collaborative team of researchers. Key Requirements Postgraduate research degree at PhD level (or near completion) in a relevant field.Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals, including fluid flow, heat and mass transfer, process control, and mathematical model development.High proficiency in mathematics, preferably related to models.Understanding of bioprocessing and cell culture.Record of high-quality research as evidenced by publications.What We Offer Fixed-term appointment for up to three years, with possible extension.Salary: Level A – $83,468- $113,262 p.a.
