About the Role This position is responsible for the preparation of RANZCP policies and submissions that are relevant to the practice of psychiatry and mental health in Australia and New Zealand.
The position offers diverse and interesting work with career development opportunities and supports the RANZCP to contribute to policy for effective and sustainable practice and improve mental health outcomes across Australia and New Zealand.
Key tasks include:
Analyse government policy and actively monitor emerging issues relevant to psychiatric practice and mental health. Prepare RANZCP responses and submissions to government and other relevant processes/inquiries. Prepare briefing materials and provide policy support to internal and external stakeholders and attend committee meetings as required. What You'll Bring Relevant tertiary qualifications in an appropriate Health, Social Science, Education, Business or Research discipline. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in policy development and analysis with specific expertise in health and social arenas. Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to tailor style to diverse audiences. Experience within membership or nonprofit organisations is a plus, along with a passion for driving meaningful change in mental health care. Australian or New Zealand citizen or holds the right to work in Australia. Some of What's on Offer: Salary range from $63,000 to $78,800 inclusive of superannuation and leave loading. A great hybrid working arrangement with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home. A monthly free paid day off for full-time staff, with pro rata benefits for part-time staff. Gender neutral 12 weeks paid parental leave for both primary and secondary care givers.
