The Health Service provides a wide range of primary care, acute and specialist services.Our staff are a part of the community we serve, and we strongly believe that health outcomes are enhanced by involving our community in the planning and evaluation of local health services.About your opportunity:In this position, you will deliver high-level clinical pharmacy services within the Mental Health Wards as a member of a multidisciplinary team. Providing leadership and high-level pharmacy services to a complex and varied workload on the Mental Health Wards, with a high degree of independence and initiative, and develop services to promote and maintain best practice care of patients. The role will have a focus on the Mental Health Wards; however, clinical support may be required for clients on other wards or for community clients of the service.About your role:Deliver high-level clinical pharmacy services within a single or multidisciplinary team within the Cairns Hospital in accordance with prescribed professional and ethical standards with infrequent need for direct clinical practice supervision.Contribute to the development of clinical practices and procedures that support the continuum of care, engaging cross-discipline referencing where relevant.Provide general clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant service managers, and other stakeholders regarding clinical pharmacy services delivery.Contribute to the professional development of junior pharmacists and pharmacy assistants within the team.Liaise with patients and their families, other health professionals, supervisors, students, and researchers, as required, to ensure continuum of care.Monitor and report on clinical practices and outcomes within the clinical service area and actively participate in initiating, developing, and implementing quality and service improvement activities that enhance the delivery of clinical pharmacy services.As a Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service employee, not only will you receive competitive remuneration, but you will also have access to:Salary packagingAnnual incremental increasesCareer training and developmentWellness programsVaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) evidence is required for your employment in accordance with legislation/government policy and Directives.For more information about this role, please refer to the attached Role Description.
