Job Summary: Our client is looking for an experienced Payroll Service Manager to join their team in Sydney.
This is a pivotal role where you will oversee the payroll function and ensure the delivery of high-quality payroll services to clients.
You will work with both local and offshore teams to streamline payroll processes and enhance the client experience.

Key Responsibilities : Lead the payroll service delivery by overseeing the coordination of payroll activities between in-country and offshore teams, ensuring timely and accurate payroll processing for clients.
Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing expert guidance and resolving payroll-related queries, ensuring the highest level of service.
Manage and track payroll-related requests, addressing client and stakeholder inquiries promptly.
Supervise the full spectrum of payroll functions, including calculation of salaries, leave, benefits, and other compensation elements, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Ensure timely payroll execution, reconciliation, and review, identifying and resolving any discrepancies or issues that arise.
Train and support onshore and offshore payroll teams, ensuring that all staff are up-to-date with payroll systems, procedures, and best practices.
Manage payroll workflows and schedules to ensure that all transactions are processed accurately and payments are made on time.
Ensure all payroll processes comply with local Australian regulatory requirements, including statutory reporting and submission of remittances.
Oversee the accurate and timely submission of year-end payroll reports, ensuring all regulatory deadlines are met.
Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies, ensuring a seamless experience for employees and clients.
Take on additional responsibilities as required, ensuring continuous improvement in payroll operations and services.
Required Skills and Qualifications : 7+ years of experience in payroll management, with in-depth knowledge of Australian payroll systems, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
Proven expertise in payroll functions, including workers' compensation, Superannuation, and different forms of employee terminations.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams, both onshore and offshore, to deliver exceptional payroll services.
Must have experience in the accounting or professional services industry .
Experience with or exposure to payroll systems such as KeyPass, Employment Hero, or Intuit QuickBooks is essential.
Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, employees, and stakeholders at all levels.
Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail when dealing with payroll-related issues.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines with minimal guidance.
Experience with statutory filing requirements and compliance with the Australian Companies Act (preferred).
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
