The Opportunity We're seeking an experienced and forward-thinking Pay Governance, Compliance & Performance Lead to join our team at WesCEF. This pivotal role involves driving best practices across pay governance, compliance, and performance.
In this role, you will take ownership of WesCEF's end-to-end pay processes to drive improvements that ensure accuracy, compliance, efficient outcomes, and a positive employee experience. You will develop and lead initiatives that directly impact our frontline employee experience and ensure compliance with internal policies, industrial instruments, and legislative requirements, while fostering a culture of accountability, risk management, and continuous improvement. You will collaborate with cross-functional and operational stakeholders to maximize the effectiveness and compliance of our time and attendance and payroll systems and processes.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Lead the review and optimisation of end-to-end pay processes across the short, medium, and long term, ensuring alignment with business objectives and compliance requirements.Develop and maintain WesCEF's pay governance frameworks, procedures, tools, and training to support accuracy, integrity, and compliance with legislation and enterprise agreements.Act as a key risk partner for payroll compliance, supporting audit readiness, performance reviews, and the identification of risks and remediation actions with a commercial and pragmatic mindset.Oversee timely and accurate payroll operations, including reconciliations, approvals, year-end reporting, and statutory lodgements.Ensure accurate translation of employment legislation, modern awards, and enterprise agreement obligations into pay processes and systems, including SuccessFactors, WFS, and Chris21.Coach and develop cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen pay governance capability and promote best practices.Represent payroll in governance committees and contribute to internal reporting to support effective decision-making.Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and third-party providers, ensuring service delivery, contract obligations, and compliance requirements are met.Develop, implement, and continuously improve pay-related reporting, information, training, and tools that are end-user focused.About You Proven ability to drive pay governance, ensure compliance, and implement end-to-end process improvements.Strong capability in coaching and stakeholder engagement, with a collaborative and forward-thinking approach.Experience designing governance frameworks and controls while navigating risk.Strong systems capability, with proficiency in SuccessFactors, WFS, and Chris21; previous experience in designing and implementing pay-related technology systems is an advantage.Knowledge of employment legislation, industrial instruments, and the ability to accurately translate these into pay systems and processes.Seasoned professional with strong communication, data analysis, and presentation skills.Demonstrated success in leading multiple projects across large and complex organizations.Competitive remuneration package, including Wesfarmers shares and participation in our annual incentive plan.Employer parental leave payment up to 18 weeks.Ongoing professional development and career opportunities across our diverse businesses and the Wesfarmers Group.Salary sacrifice options, including novated lease vehicle packaging.Access to employee benefits across Wesfarmers, including staff discounts at Bunnings, Kleenheat, Kmart, Target, Officeworks, and Wesfarmers Arts-sponsored events.Why WesCEF We are committed to building an engaged and talented workforce that reflects the communities where we operate.
