What you'll be doingThe Clinical Informatics Unit exists within Information Communications and Technology (ICT), Northern Sydney Local Health District (NSLHD).
The unit provides:
- ongoing application support and management of clinical and patient management applications
- clinical and patient management application upgrades and maintenance
- eMR data quality and management
- expert knowledge, ongoing enhancements, optimisation and development of the eMR and
- consulting services on the development of new clinical applications, advice on business process reengineering and transformation, change management, benefits realisation and post implementation reviews
This role is responsible for the ICT department's relationship with external heath providers to enable delivery of integrated care that require systems interoperability with medical record data sharing applications such as the Clinical Health Information Exchange (CHIE). For example, Healthscope, the operator of Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH). Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.Qualifications in Health Health Sciences or equivalent work experience in a Cerner health environment with a detailed understanding of the importance of data integrity and its impact on clinical care, Unique Patient Identifiers practices and principals, patient registration process and patient identification; including relevant policiesguidelines, and privacy of personal health information.Demonstrated excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, including the ability to assess and critically evaluate the validity of information, problem identification, analysis and resolution.Demonstrated extensive experience performing application management and support in a health environment i.e. system testing, issue investigation, issue resolution, change management and change control procedures. In particular, experience with health systems interfacing.Extensive experience and understanding of clinical process in conducting business process re-design, documentation of workflow, data flow analysis diagrams, benefits realisation and change management documents. Proficient in Microsoft Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word and Excel.Excellent planning, time management and organisational skills particularly in the area of managing multiple tasksconflicting priorities and multi-disciplinary issues to meet deadlines.Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to prepare project documentation, analyse, interpret policies, procedures and standards, give presentations and liaise effectively at all levels.Strong negotiation skills and ability to work within multidisciplinary teams and key stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation to achieve desired outcomes. Excellent customer service skills and the ability to analyse client requirements.
