Artistic Swimming Australia (ASAI) is the National body for the sport of artistic swimming in Australia as recognised by the Fédération Internationale de Natation (FINA), the Australian government (Sport Australia and the Australian Institute of Sport), the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC).

ASAI is responsible for the management and development of artistic swimming in Australia from grass-roots to elite level, including the participation of Australian artistic swimmers at the Olympic Games.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE AND REMUNERATION

38 hours per week. $27 per hour + superannuation. This position can be filled in a full time, part time or casual capacity by one person or shared between two people.

PRIMARY JOB PURPOSE

To strengthen artistic swimming performance pathways, increase the size of the athlete talent pool and enhance performance through the coordination, delivery and support of coach and athlete development programs and projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Pathways Coordinator/s will help execute the Performance Pathways Plan, specifically in the following areas:

Coach Development

Partner with the National and State Coaching Directors and National Head Coach to create, identify and deliver materials for the learning and development of the National network of coaches.

Contribute to the establishment of a National Coaches Network and drive the delivery of networking and professional development opportunities.

Assist the National coaches with individual professional development plans.

Contribute to the design of a National coach development framework.

Athlete Recruitment and Development

Partner with State Boards and clubs to provide support services to the design, implementation and monitoring of all facets of club-partnered talent identification and development (TID) programs.

Coordinate and monitor athlete development programs.

Contribute to the design of a National athlete development framework.

Assist in the establishment of systematic data capture and analysis procedures to further athlete profiling, quantify the talent pipeline, and monitor development.

Manage and conduct meetings with key stakeholders, including establishment of collaborative arrangements with schools.

Assist with other projects and resource development as required.

JOB HOLDER CAPABILITIES

Qualifications and Experience

Coaching and/or coach management experience, and coaching accreditation (not required if only applying for the part-time role to coordinate athlete development).

Tertiary qualifications, or working towards tertiary qualifications (sport management, sport science, business or a related field desirable but not essential).

Experience participating in or working at various levels of the sporting pathway.

Experience in project management involving a range of stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of artistic swimming is desirable.

Knowledge of coach development is desirable.

Understanding of the standards and demands on athletes and coaches at various levels of the pathway from grass-roots, through pre-elite to elite level sport.

Well-developed analytical, organisational and time-management skills facilitating achievement of progressive milestones and long-term goals.

Liaison, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

Skills in Microsoft Office 365.
