About the Role Reporting to the Chief Growth Officer, the Participant Experience Manager will be responsible for working within the sports ecosystem to identify and develop safe, welcoming, inclusive, and fun user experiences in the places where sporting experiences take place (e.g. schools, clubs, and non-traditional places). They will be responsible for developing and aligning Hockey Australia's hockey participation activities to Australia's Sport Participation Strategy (Play Well).
Key Accountabilities Support Member Associations in the implementation of the Whole of Sport Play Well Participation Strategy. Lead the strategy to increase the presence of hockey in schools, including the engagement of Teachers as Ambassadors. Manage and grow the National Sporting Schools programs. Develop a strategy to unlock the multi-use potential of existing assets and maximise versatility and sustainability through innovative partnerships and collaboration. Help develop training and resources that educate the hockey community and tackle barriers to participation for priority communities. Identify ways to facilitate transition to ongoing participation. Remuneration Hockey Australia will offer a $90,000 - $102,000 salary package including superannuation dependent upon the successful applicant's skills and experience.
Experience, Skills and Attributes Tertiary qualifications in teaching, community development or sport management are desirable for this role. Strong knowledge of the school system, how it works and how to build curriculum and align activities is highly desirable. A good understanding of how to create an environment where the individual has a positive experience. Ability to educate and influence multiple and diverse stakeholder individuals and groups. Problem solving skills and the ability to ensure business and technical problems are managed efficiently and effectively. Strong end-user focus and stakeholder management ability.
