Our client is looking for a Palliative Care Consultant to join the team on a full-time basis.
The RoleAs a consultant physician, your primary responsibility will be to offer specialized palliative medical expertise and clinical guidance to the Specialist Palliative Care Service and its patients. This encompasses providing support to the Specialist Palliative Care Consultancy Team, the Community Specialist Palliative Care Service, and the Inpatient Specialist Palliative Care Unit. This role presents an exciting opportunity for you to drive the development of services throughout the region. Additionally, you will have the chance to contribute to the expansion of research activities within the service.
The HospitalThe hospital provides a wide spectrum of medical, surgical, and psychiatric services. It caters to a catchment area that exceeds 110,000 residents and boasts a total capacity of almost 300 beds along with an extensive array of primary and community healthcare services. It serves as the primary acute care referral center for the South West Region, houses a Deakin Clinical School on its premises, and is the largest employer in the region.
The LocationA comfortable 3 hr drive from Melbourne, this is a university city known for its breathtaking coastline and natural beauty. Here you will spend less time commuting in traffic and more time enjoying the region! With a population of 34,000 and a catchment of 100,000, it is the regional center to Victoria's Great South Coast. The area boasts excellent sporting, education, social and cultural facilities.
