Selection Criteria SC 1 - Demonstrate the experience and skills, to assist the Coordinator in the day-to-day running of the program and working knowledge of the Xplor Software Computer program. SC 2 - Demonstrate an ability to support the implementation of a range of activities that are enjoyable, stimulating and developmentally appropriate for children attending the program. SC 3 - Demonstrate an ability to provide adequate supervision of children at all times, whilst maintaining a warm, caring and safe environment. Safety of the children is paramount. SC 4 - Demonstrated capacity to work and collaborate with others in a team environment. SC 5 - Highly developed interpersonal skills, which are a requirement when dealing with a range of people related to the program such as carers/parents, children, OSHC staff, teaching and other school personnel. Role You will be encouraged to demonstrate your creative and innovative talents assisting within the school's Outside School Hours Care Program. You need to enjoy working and engaging with primary school aged children and be willing to get actively involved in activities. Experience working with children is required.
Our OSHC program operates each school day, Monday to Friday from 7:00am-9:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm, and curriculum days 8am to 5.30pm (successful applicant will be required to work 5 hours on these days). This position is 5 days a week and the successful applicant is required to work a minimum of 25 hours per week.
Undertakes routine tasks that are usually carried out under close supervision and direction. Work that carries some degree of independence will generally involve a limited number of tasks performed on a regular basis where priorities are clear, procedures are well established and direction is readily available.
Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position will be:
Take initiative and work in a team environment Assist with food preparation, cleaning, facilitating games and activities (such as, sports, cooking and art and crafts) Interacting and establishing positive relationships with children, parents and school staff. Ensuring adequate supervision of children at all times, whilst maintaining a warm, caring and safe environment. Assisting the OSHC Coordinator in the planning and organisation of activities. Attend regular team meetings. Supervision when required. Qualifications Must hold or be actively working towards a minimum Certificate III in Children's Services or approved equivalent.

Experience in assisting with planning and conducting a variety of recreational activities for primary school children is desirable.
Current Drivers Licence.
Valid Working with Children Check (Employee status).
Anaphylaxis and Asthma trained.
Current Food Handling Certificate is advantageous.

Location Profile Pascoe Vale Primary School, established in 1891, has a proud tradition of education in the city of Merri-bek and has a strong community spirit. The school is located in an established residential area eight kilometres north of Melbourne, servicing a community which reflects the diversity of Australian society.
The school population is currently 515 students. The school has received close to 20 million dollars in capital works funding over the last few years and has had upgrades to existing classrooms in addition to new learning spaces, including a STE(A)M specialist centre. The school provides a mix of traditional and flexible, open learning spaces and well-developed outdoor areas. The community is diverse with 39 languages spoken at the school. The age and experience profile of staff reflects the employment of a number of graduate staff in recent years, to complement and be mentored by more experienced staff.
The school offers a comprehensive curriculum (Victorian Curriculum) with specialist classes in LOTE (Italian), visual/performing arts and PE, complemented with targeted intervention and enrichment programs. We aim to improve the achievement levels of all students and cohorts through continuing to raise expectations and standards of learning. Teachers undertake continuous targeted assessment and use student learning data to inform their planning, teaching decisions and reporting. Teachers plan in teams and the whole team has a joint responsibility for the learning of all students in their cohort. Literacy and numeracy are the heart of the school priorities. There is a school wide emphasis on 21st Century learning skills using digital technologies, inquiry and STE(A)M as integral drivers.
Students in Grade 3-6 have 1:1 Interactive Devices (BYO program with specified device), Prep to Grade 2 students will have the use of school owned iPads/surface gos.
