This role is offered on a part-time basis (30 hours per week), but there is flexibility to negotiate full-time hours if desired. In this role, you will work with clients to assess, intervene, and evaluate their orientation and mobility needs, ensuring they achieve safe and independent travel. You will also provide information, prescription, and training in mobility aids/devices, and collaborate with families, carers, and service providers to achieve positive outcomes.Provide assessment, intervention and evaluation in the areas of orientation and mobility for allocated caseload.Provide information, prescription and training in mobility aids/devices to support safe and independent travel.Achieve positive client outcomes through working within a team-approach and effective communication with families, carers and service providers.Provide information and support to families, professionals and other relevant individuals to support capacity-building.Provide support in the planning and delivery of group programs including VisAbility's holiday program.Maintain confidential client case notes, reports and information within the Client Management System.Actively seek information from VisAbility's Process Mapping System and contribute to the creation and ongoing improvement of VisAbility's processes through providing input, feedback and suggestions.Work to improve the effectiveness of service delivery by managing issues and making recommendations to Coordinator where required.Support training and development initiatives of the organisation and the profession.Minimum RequirementsTertiary Qualification in Orientation and Mobility.Certification of Orientation and Mobility Specialists (COMS).Demonstrated experience in providing orientation and mobility services to a diverse caseload.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.Sound computer and report writing skills.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an interdisciplinary team.Ability to travel to client appointments and other locations as needed in a timely manner.Hold or be willing to obtain National Police Check, Working with Vulnerable People Card (NDIS endorsed) and valid driver's licence.Desired Skills and ExperienceIn return, you will be rewarded with:Enjoy up to 3 days of paid leave during the Christmas and New Year holidays!Ongoing professional development and training.Access to purchased leave.Employee Assistance Program.NFP salary packaging options – use some of your salary for everyday expenses before income tax; meaning you can increase your take-home pay!How to apply?If you're ready to help us, make a difference, click Apply and let's chat about what life looks like at EverAbility.For further information please contact Tennille Burns, Senior Program Manager Kites TAS & VisAbility TAS at ****** note, email applications will not be accepted.We encourage people with disability and of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander background to apply.
