Role We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Orchard Manager who will work closely with our experienced orchard staff to assist with the growth and development of our Almond Orchards. The role will ensure the strategy, maintenance and development of the orchard is achieved in line with operational targets.
This role will require the candidate to manage all areas of production including horticultural operations, harvesting, on-farm processing and management of resources. This role is pivotal to deliver on the Stahmann Webster Strategy to maximise production and quality of its products.
Duties include but are not limited to: Work with the technical team to develop and deliver on the orchard strategy Develop orchard capital and operational budgets, KPI's and provide regular reporting against these metrics Ensure all assets are utilised to maximise efficiency and sustainability Project management of on-farm improvement initiatives Manage, mentor, guide and develop staff to ensure knowledge and skill continues to grow within Stahmann Webster Provide a safe working site and work practices Securing, training and management of all contractors operating on site Plan and oversee the maintenance to all plant and equipment with minimal downtime Essential Criteria, Skills and Experience Minimum 5 years' experience managing a horticultural operation or similar Progressive mindset to continually question, trial and evaluate all areas of operation Deep understanding and interest in the technical aspects of permanent tree crops Effective time management and organisational skills High degree of computer literacy Valid driver's licence Why work with us?
