This will operate on a 7/7 roster. Given the role's location, we encourage local residents to apply for this position.Our MMU Operators form part of a well-oiled, united, high performing, supportive and diverse team of Blasting Professionals. As a valued member of our team, you will be required to operate an MMU (Mobile Manufacturing Unit). An MMU is a highly advanced Heavy Rigid vehicle fitted with the latest technology and onboard computer systems and is used to pump explosive products into pre-drilled blast holes on our customer sites.This is a chance to secure a stable and long-term role with the global market leader in blasting. At Orica, we have incredible training and organisational development infrastructure in which to support Operators and Blast Crew members who wish to take the next step in their careers into Technical and Blast Engineering related roles, or Leadership within our large global business.What you will be doingFirst and foremost, demonstrating and setting the example of our key company value: 'Safety is our Priority, Always';Operating Orica's MMU blast delivery vehicle safely and efficiently meeting our customer expectations;Magazine Management, managing the loading, tying and firing of blasts, following drill and blast designs;Assisting with training and mentoring of new team members;Working in tight unison with all blast crew teammates to provide excellence in service to our valued customers;At all times acting with integrity and respect.What you will bringA current HR drivers licence is essential and a current HC drivers licence would be advantageous;Exposure to operating Orica's MMU or other similar blast delivery vehicle (preferred);Previous experience within a similar industry would be highly regarded;A high degree of physical fitness and/or demonstrated hands-on manual work;An excellent, positive and team-based attitude where you look out for your teammates;A basic mechanical comprehension would be highly regarded.What we offerAs part of a truly global company, you will have the ability to grow and learn in a diverse, collaborative culture.
