Heavy Vehicles & Prosecutions; Land Transport Safety and Regulation; Customer Services, Safety & Regulation; BrisbaneWe are seeking an experienced Operations Officer to join our Access team in Brisbane.

In the role of Operations Officer within the Heavy Vehicle Access Team you will provide Heavy Vehicle Road Operations support to the Advisor in close liaison with the Queensland Police Service (QPS), the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator, Industry, the Heavy Vehicle Section and Transport and Main Roads (TMR) regions in managing the Heavy Vehicle operations on Queensland's road system; providing Class permit application processing, supply chain and network capacity management outcomes and schemes delivery services.
Accountabilities include:
• Cultivate a team culture that supports, empowers and develops its individuals to reach their full potential within TMR.
• Provide enquiry response services for TMR Regions and other external organisations.
• Assist in the development of improved and consistent conditions reporting information to permit holders and industry.
• Complete permit processing tasks and provide permit information to industry.
• As directed undertake operational tasks relating to permit management and reporting.
• Liaise with other departments, interstate and Commonwealth agencies, and transport and industry peak bodies and the Queensland Police Service as directed.
• Contribute to project outcomes and participate in the development of the Branch's people and the delivery of the business plan.
• Supervise processing of permit applications and appeals and complaint escalations.
• Promote and ensure compliance with public sector legislation, standards, policies, practices and procedures relating to human, financial and physical resources.
• Participate in organisational change initiatives as required to continually improve the performance of the Heavy Vehicles Section and the department.
• Take personal responsibility for self and team to deliver on agreed outcomes, model high standards of professionalism and ethical behaviour; contribute actively to corporate and divisional goals, demonstrate self awareness and a commitment to personal development.
• Ensure a safe and healthy workplace including compliance with workplace health and safety and employee rehabilitation legislation, codes of practice, standards and departmental policy and procedures.
