In the absence of the Team Leader, this role is responsible for leading a team operators and trade disciplines and ensure effective and efficient execution of planned and unplanned operational activities.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the Team Leader during peak times by managing and coordinating key tasks and activities with the team.Lead by example and motivate the team to work cohesively to safely execute daily and weekly tasks, meeting compliance, processes and procedures for both production and maintenance units.Provide coverage for the Team Leader when they are absent during annual leave, personal leave, training or meetings.Support the team by providing feedback and hold people accountable for their actions and responsibilities in meeting those expectations.Solve problems to root cause and support the team in implementing solutions.Ensure the team's compliance to instructions, policies, procedures and operating conditions & limits.Provide clear instruction to all responsible team members to ensure key work performance and safety objectives are met.Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure you and the team are prepared for start-up, shut down and continual operation of the plant.Identify potential risks to performance and escalate to the relevant stakeholders to minimize impact when necessary.Develop and implement solutions to improve safety, overall plant reliability, performance and output.Focus on key projects or activities on behalf of the Team Leader as required.Manage conflicting priorities while maintaining key stakeholder interests and relationships.Communicate information effectively, both verbally and in writing at all levels of the business.Work Experience / Technical Skill RequirementsAustralian trade qualification. (preferably fitting or electrical and instrumentation with an A grade electrical license)Minimum five years relevant industry experience in a complex chemical manufacturing or similar environment.Demonstrated leadership experience in a complex environment.Demonstrated dedication and commitment to safety, leading by example to drive a strong safety culture.Effective communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the business.Proven initiative and self-motivation in the workplace and proactive behaviours.Ability to work effectively in a team and as an individual.Demonstrated experience in building strong working relationships.Education / Qualification RequirementsAustralian trade certification (fitting or electrical with accompanying A Grade electrical licence)Permit to Work Confined SpaceHigh Risk licencesValid driver's licenceWe are partners to one another in pioneering new ways to be better for ourselves, our teams, and our communities.
