As a department, our purpose is to help the community to prevent, prepare for, respond to, and recover from the impact of fire and emergency events.Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is the primary provider of fire, rescue, and emergency management programs and services throughout Queensland. The department encompasses the Fire and Rescue Service, disaster management services, the Rural Fire Service, and the State Emergency Service (SES), and also supports other volunteer groups providing emergency response to Queenslanders.QFES is one department with many services, many capabilities, and many partners.The Core Capability Requirements For This Role Are:Plan, prepare, deliver, and review training and capability development programs for SES volunteers.Assist with the coordination of area and regional-based capability development programs.Contribute to the research and development of programs supporting the operational capability of the SES.Assist with equipment audits across the Emergency Service Volunteers Division as required.Identify and contribute to the resolution of operational capability issues.Process training and administrative records and maintain accurate records to provide reports on training data and information.Liaise with local SES units, QFES staff, and external stakeholders to develop an understanding of training needs to build SES capability.Undertake and support SES operational duties during emergencies and disasters as necessary, which may involve intra and interstate deployments including travel to rural and remote communities, at short notice and out of business hours.Mandatory Role Requirements:Minimum C Class Driver's Licence (non-restricted).Technical/Operational/Educational Experience:Experience as a volunteer or within a volunteer environment is highly desirable.Experience with the delivery of training and hold a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification or can obtain the skill within a mutually agreed timeframe.Other:This role is also a designated SES uniformed position; therefore, it is expected the incumbent may possess and/or maintain the necessary skills/expertise or experience to be appointed as an Authorised Rescue Officer in accordance with section 148(2) of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1990.Capacity to work on nights and weekends to suit an SES volunteer environment.Applications to remain current for 12 months.Occupational group: Education & Training
