18th November, 2024 Are You a Passionate Occupational Therapist Looking for a Rewarding Role?
At MSWA, we're on the lookout for a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team in Wilson on a full-time basis.
If you're someone who thrives on making a real impact in people's lives, this is the opportunity you've been waiting for.
In this fulfilling role, you'll be at the heart of delivering comprehensive OT services for individuals living with neurological conditions such as Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Parkinson's, Huntington's, Stroke, and Acquired Brain Injuries.
You'll collaborate closely with clients to develop personalised interventions, empower them to achieve their goals, and enhance their independence in daily life.
You'll also help people manage fatigue, sleep disturbances, cognitive changes, and introduce advanced assistive technology solutions to improve their quality of life.
Why Join MSWA?
Make a Tangible Impact: You'll be supporting individuals facing complex challenges and helping them navigate daily life with confidence and independence.
Expert Team: Work alongside a highly skilled and passionate team of healthcare professionals, all committed to delivering the highest level of care.
Variety & Challenge: Every day will bring new challenges, from assessments in diverse environments to creating tailored interventions that truly make a difference.
Professional Growth: We are committed to your ongoing development, offering mentoring opportunities and a supportive environment to help you grow in your OT career.
Work-Life Balance: Enjoy a fulfilling full-time role with a healthy work-life balance in a supportive and dynamic workplace.
How You'll Contribute: Comprehensive Assessments: Conduct detailed OT assessments in a variety of settings, including homes and workplaces, addressing daily living, physical, sensory, and cognitive needs.
Collaborative Care: Work closely with clients, families, and external stakeholders (including equipment suppliers) to design and implement effective interventions and facilitate equipment provision.
Navigate Funding Models: Demonstrate expertise in managing and navigating funding models to ensure clients receive the equipment they need.
Palliative Care Sensitivity: Offer support with sensitivity and competence to clients requiring palliative care, ensuring dignity and comfort in their final stages.
Accurate Documentation: Maintain precise, up-to-date client records to ensure high-quality, continuous care.
Mentorship: Share your knowledge by mentoring OT students, OTAs, and volunteers, contributing to the development of future OT professionals.
Essential Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent qualification).
Registration: Current registration with AHPRA.
Driver's License: Valid Australian "C" Class Driver's License (with no restrictions).
NDIS Worker Screening Check: (or willingness to obtain).
First Aid & CPR Certification: Current First Aid certificate (we can help here if not).
And the benefits?
As a not-for-profit organisation we are fortunate to be able to offer generous salary packaging options to all our employees.
Currently up to $18,500 can be packaged to cover things like living expenses, mortgage payments, or car leasing – this means you pay less tax on your income!
We also offer generous leave policies, discounts on major retailers and an opportunity to do (what we think is) challenging and rewarding work every day.
But above all you will be a part of our purpose at MSWA to empower Western Australians living with neurological conditions to live their best life.
